NEW! Sauna & Steam at The Venue

The Sauna and Steam area at The Venue is open. Booking in advance is essential, please book online, via the InspireAll app or with the reception team. On arrival for your session, please collect a wristband from reception. You can either use the facility with one of our memberships or as a casual user paying for sessions as you go.

The refurbished area will be a relaxing, calm environment with sauna and steam rooms, heated benches, rainfall shower, ice fountain and relaxation area. Using sauna and steam facilities as part of your wellbeing routine can help to destress, relieve aches and pains, relax your muscles and detox your skin.


A ‘dry’ heat treatment in a wood-lined room with a temperature reaching 90 C, designed to induce perspiration to cleanse the body of impurities.

Sauna bathing often claim health benefits that include detoxification, increased metabolism, weight loss, increased blood circulation, pain reduction, antiaging, skin rejuvenation, improved cardiovascular function, improved immune function, improved sleep, stress management, and relaxation.

Steam Room

A ‘wet’ heat treatment, designed to operate at temperatures of up to 50oC and regulated by a thermostat with relative humidity of 80 to 100%. Simply relax in the steam room for a short period of time and let the wellness properties of heat and steam work their magic. Benefit from added aromas, and essential oils, all of which can increase the benefits and enhance the experience.

You can book for any of the sessions below, for a maximum of 1 hour 30 minutes. If you enter the sauna and steam area after the stated start time, you will have the remainder of the session to enjoy the area.

Some things you need to know before you visit;

  • You must book before every visit, you can do this online, via the InspireAll app or at reception.
  • Every session is for a maximum of 1 hour 30 minutes, please collect a wristband for your session from reception.
  • The Sauna and Steam area is for adults only (over 16’s)
  • Bathing costumes are to be worn at all times.
  • Customers are encouraged to drink plenty of water whilst using the facilities.
  • Food is not permitted in the area.
  • Please observe all etiquette on each visit.

The Venue Leisure Centre Exercise Referral Scheme

Do you have a long-term health condition such as poor mental health, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, asthma, or COPD?

If so, you may be able to access our Exercise Referral Scheme which could be the first step to increasing your activity levels and improving your long-term health and wellbeing.

To meet our inclusion criteria you should be:

  • 16+
  • A local resident
  • Registered with a Hertsmere clinician
  • Have a long-term health condition.

What Does the Exercise Referral Scheme offer?

You will receive a tailor-made programme which includes;

  • One-to-one consultation with one of our exercise referral professionals to discuss your medical conditions, medication, goals and exercise plan
  • Gym induction to show you how to use the equipment following your own personalised plan.
  • eGym induction
  • 6 & 12 week review to montior your progress and update your exercise plan.
  • Concession membership

How to Get Referred?

Via your GP; if you think you might be eligible for the scheme please ask your GP for a referral.

You can then either pop in to make your first appointment or telephone the centre on 020 8386 9886

Please bring the completed referral form with you to your first appointment

Other Clinicians; there are also a number of other clinicians who can refer to the scheme. A list of eligible referrers can be found here and the referral form here. Please print a copy of the referral form and take it to your clinician for completion. You can then visit or telephone The Venue to book your appointment.
